The Tour begins......

The last couple days have been really weird. The roads in DC have potholes you can lose your car in
and unfortunately I hit a big one last night. Immediately the first half of the brake pedal had no resistance.
It got progressively worse yesterday and I painfully decided that we wouldn't be at the start, instead
spending the day getting it repaired.

I found a British repair shop and made plans to go there first thing in the morning after limping over to the start
site to meet everyone. As we drove along the pedal began to regain it's feel and before long I had full brakes again.
We decided to do the first day of the tour and things went well, having brakes all day (that's a good thing!). We had
seven woodies driving to the Gettysburg Visitor Center, a bit of a rolling car show.

The air conditioning has, thankfully, been working spectacularly, making the drive very pleasant. Even in stop & go traffic the car never overheated and we were cool.

It's raining tonight and our car is getting wet for the first time and the wipers were also getting their initial
work out. I'm praying for no more rain!

Hello Blog Followers!!
Today has been cool, meeting those that will be going the distance with us... Everyone is super nice and I know our trip will be fun!
Thanks to Helen and Ken for the great tour from DC to Gettysburg and on to Hershey. What a great route with a stop at a cool covered bridge (The photo above)
Since the trama with the car somehow got fixed (I say thanks Dad! We asked you for help and I think you somehow fixed it for us!)The rain is kind of a bummer as the
windshield is steamy and we have to keep wiping it with a rag. Oh the joys of a 58 year old car.
Tomorrow morning we will head to the "World of Hershey" for about an hour or so as we have a 7 hr drive ahead to Columbus Ohio...
I will try to write tomorrow night as well as this "Bates Motel" (I mean that in the nicest way!) we are in doesn't have internet access.
