Well the day started off at 8am with us saying goodbye to our fantastic hosts John and Martha. I was sad to go as we had such a great time with them. Thank you both again for all of your hospitality.... We were off to Alliance NE, alone..... First time this trip that we had no buddies with us. We went along on Hwy 30 and went through towns that were super small and super OLD! We got some great shots of some old cars in a junk yard with the weeds all grown up around them...Very cool.... The weather was great he clouds so lo you could touch them and the sun out... It was an uneventful trip until we were almost to Alliance. We were driving into town and coming towards us was a Woody! It was Dave Ocken, the only Woody in Alliance! He met us to take us to Carhenge. Nance and Mark met up with us and we were off to CarHenge....Ok, it started raining...then thunder.....then lightning.... By the time we got there it was really raining and lots of lightning...Let's see...out in a field surrounded by tall metal objects, lots of lightning, well I took a couple of pictures and headed to the car, yes, I'm terrified of lightning. :o) Gar, Dave, Mark and Nancy braved the lightning and stayed out there while I was nice and dry in the car, I got my pictures... Dave then took us to his house where he made us a wonderful dinner and entertained us with great woody stories. Thanks Dave for such a great evening. We had a Great time. You are a doll. :o)
Tomorrow we are off to Rapid City for three nights. Our longest stay anywhere on the trip. So much to see and do.
