Sunday

Gary's comments for today follow: So far our trip has been uneventful but very busy. We’ll be picking up our car from Capitol Cadillac tomorrow (Monday) and getting prepared for the Big Trip. The other ‘long haul’ drivers are in town and we’ll try to get together prior to leaving.
In the meantime we’ve been visiting DC’s myriad of sights and museums and have discovered that the time we allowed to tour the area was WAYYYYY short. We knew we wouldn’t be able to see everything but there is SSOOOO much to see….it’s like there’s a monument for everything and everybody. You could easily spend a month trying to see and explore the city.
Last night there was a local car show in the parking lot….wish I’d had the wagon. I told one guy I had shipped my car and it was in a warehouse a few miles north and I was going to drive it across country…..I could see “Yeah sure!” in his eyes so I just wandered around the show keeping my mouth shut.
Tomorrow’s goal is to drive to Baltimore and meet up with a friend from my Michigan days.
Terry's coments:
Hello Blog followers!
Yesterday and today we went to the Washington Mall and visited the museum's and took a tour bus around Washington and Arlington ...... We saw the Vietnam War Memorial and I had no idea that my reaction would be so emotional! Oh I had such a feeling of sadness to see and touch so many names! It brought me to tears as soon as I saw it and felt the realization that those are people with families that no longer have them in their lives. It was very emotional! Then we went to the Holocaust museum (yes, another uplifting place!) That was so emotional as well, but another kind of emotion... Sadness yes, but disbelief that something so horrible could happen in our lifetime... There are not that many survivors left and we can never forget what happened there...
As Gary said we are off to Baltimore tomorrow and to Charm City Cakes! Maybe Duff will come out???? I'm hoping so (for those that don't know what Charm City is...its a show on the food network) I am excited to drive by the bakery and perhaps they will come out when they see the Woodie.... Maybe not, but you never know... We are doing other things there too...Baltimore ducks, Dragon Boats and whatever else we can do... Maybe meeting our friend Bruce from NYC too....
OK that is more than enough for tonight!
Ter :)

  3. Love the updates! I look forward to "travelling" along w/ you (cyberwise) as you cross and discover this country. I have been fortunate to travel to many places in the world, but as yet, have not traveled cross country as you are doing. This is exciting stuff. Have a great time, and please keep the updates coming.

  4. Irish blessing for your travels ahead:
    May God give you...
    For every storm, a rainbow,
    For every tear, a smile,
    For every care, a promise,
And a blessing in each trial.
    For every problem life sends,
    A faithful friend to share,
For every sigh, a sweet song,
And an answer for each prayer.

Great to know you made it and having a good time - N. Loomis
